falter is an artist book inspired by time spent in Japan in 1995 and the moments when one stutters to find words to communicate as images and thoughts inhabit a technology based world. Text was letterpress printed on 35mm negatives, scanned and printed out using an ink jet printer and risograph duplicator. A second layer of text was laser cut representing our internal voice.
A series of 6 silkscreen images were also made for the project but do not accompany the book. The editon of 25 are hand-bound over boards and come in a custom wooden box. Edition binding was completed by John DeMeritt bookbinding.
