Artist Statement:

I express my love of the narrative, and my interest in deconstructing narrative, through making books. To be human is to need and to be attracted to stories. The flexibility and focus of the book art medium allows a story to be revealed in a manner that involves the reader physically, visually, and emotionally, and has the potential to become an intense personal experience.

My favorite themes are mortality, individual transformation, and the acts of writing and reading.

My books are currently either handmade or computer-generated. I enjoy designing and building unique books from scratch or from repurposed materials; I also generate books as digital files that can be printed on an office laser printer or commercially in larger editions.
